Hi, I’m Donna Ronald and I’m a person-centred therapist offering counselling in the Deeside area for anyone who feels that they need a warm, non-judgemental and confidential space to look at whatever is difficult to manage right now. I work with adults of all ages. I also offer counselling to young people aged 12-18.
Face to Face counselling sessions take place at Kinneskie Clinic in Banchory, Aberdeenshire and from my private counselling room in Torphins. Clients come from Banchory, Aboyne, Ballater and the surrounding area as well as from Aberdeen.
My experience is in working with those experiencing difficulties with relationships, stress, anxiety, grief and loss, parental separation and divorce, addiction, issues in relation to sexuality and gender, neuro-divergence, disordered eating, self-harm and suicidal ideation. It’s rarely one single thing that is causing us to feel like we’re barely surviving, often it can be a build up of messy stuff, or a sense that we feel lost, or hopeless.
If you are thinking about coming to counselling or are wondering whether it might be helpful for your teenager, please take a look through this website and get in touch to have a chat about the next steps. Any initial consultation is free, and can be a call or an online meeting.

Taking that first step can be nerve-wracking, or feel risky. But the aim of coming to counselling is to feel better, so just as you’d search for a physiotherapist for a nagging problem in your body, then making that call for counselling therapy is going to help you or your teenager, look at what’s sore and how we can help it to heal.
